Your cover letter is your sales pitch to a specific company. Your letter should provide prospective employers with some insight into you as an individual. It’s easy to get lost in a stack of papers – you must highlight the specific areas of your personality, experience and education that make you the perfect fit for the job that you are applying for. Be certain that your contact information on the cover letter is up-to-date. This letter should be well written and concise and should make clear to the reader that you are eager and available to do a great job for the employer.
A resume is a one page summary of your education, skills, accomplishments and experience. Although a resume is not required in the application process when applying for a job with NANA, most companies do require a resume as part of their hiring process. It is a good idea to keep your resume updated and ready to present at any time. You never know when a great opportunity will become available.
You can download a Powerpoint Presentation on the subject.
Employers request references to confirm the accuracy of statements made in an application and to help determine a candidate’s suitability for the post in question and potential for the future.
The employment application is an official document – all of the information within must be complete and accurate. More and more organizations have online application forms, making it even more important be succinct. As with the applications you fill out by hand, be sure to check and double check your work before sending.
